Welcome to Helsinki!

Dear Nordic Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great honour and pleasure to invite you to Helsinki for the 31st Congress of the Nordic Association of Otolaryngology. The first congress was held in 1911 in Copenhagen, and therefore we will proudly celebrate the 100 years of activity in 2011.

Helsinki is easy to reach either by plane or by boat, or even with a sailing boat! As the capital city, Helsinki offers many activities, cultural entertainment, and a relaxing stay during the congress.

The Nordic countries share a rather homogenic medical educational culture, health care system and working atmosphere. The congress will present these common things up for discussion. As well as bring Nordic colleagues together for fruitful collaboration.

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I will invite all Nordic otorhinolaryngologists, whether you are a young resident, specialist or even already retired, to join us in Helsinki in August 2011. We are looking forward to your contribution which certainly will make our Congress an unforgettable event.
